The Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Almir Badnjević, attended the forum titled “Malignant Influences in Europe,” held on February 5, 2025, in Washington, D.C. Badnjević participated at the invitation of U.S. Congressmen Pete Sessions and Robert Aderholt. The forum brought together high-ranking officials from various countries, including parliament members and leaders from the Balkans. Active participants in the discussions included U.S. Congressmen Pete Sessions, Robert Aderholt, Keith Self, John Moolenaar, and Tom Souzzi, as well as former congressmen Zach Wamp and Jim Slattery.
The forum served as a platform for exchanging opinions on key security and political challenges. The central topics of discussion included the implementation of the “National Defence Strategy,” aimed at strengthening security cooperation and stability in the region, as well as enhancing partnerships between European countries and their allies, including the United States. One of the major topics was the influence of global powers such as Russia, China, and Iran in Europe, which presents a serious challenge to the geopolitical stability of the continent.
Among the forum participants, a significant role was played by Sabina Ćudić, a member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. Ćudić contributed to a deeper analysis of security challenges in the Balkans and beyond, focusing on regional stability, cooperation among Balkan countries, and the adaptation of these countries within the broader context of European and international security policy. Her involvement at the forum highlighted the importance of cooperation between Balkan states and the need to strengthen internal political stability.
