The Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), Mr. Almir Badnjević, held a highly significant meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Luigi Soreca.
During the meeting, topics related to digital transformation in BiH were discussed, including the implementation of innovative technologies, infrastructure improvement, strengthening cybersecurity, and providing advanced digital services for citizens. A particular emphasis was placed on the successful implementation of the qualified electronic signature (e-signature), which, this year, IDDEEA BiH made available to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, enabling them to access digital services in a simple, secure, and efficient manner.
Director Badnjević expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the EU Delegation and emphasized the importance of joint projects such as the Digital ID Wallet (e-wallet), which, in accordance with the eIDAS 2 regulation, will further strengthen the digital transformation of BiH and provide citizens with easy access to public and private services.
The significance of these projects was also highlighted by the Head of the EU Delegation, Luigi Soreca, who noted that they help streamline procedures for both citizens and legal entities.
“Digitalization of public services is one of the reforms on the European path with a great impact on the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” concluded Soreca.
This meeting further reinforces the steadfast commitment of IDDEEA and the EU Delegation to the modernization of public services, the enhancement of European standards, and the improvement of the overall quality of life for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
