A delegation of the Sarajevo Canton Government, led by the Minister of Justice and Administration of Sarajevo Canton, Darja Softić Kadenić, visited the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA). The main topic of discussion was the implementation of the e-portal for the citizens of Sarajevo Canton, which will significantly improve the accessibility and efficiency of administrative services.
During the meeting, Minister Softić Kadenić emphasized that the application developed by the Sarajevo Canton Government is in its final stages of development. She also announced that by the end of the year, the adoption of the Law on e-Government is expected, which will fulfill all legal prerequisites for the introduction of new digital services.
The first service to be available through the new e-portal will be the issuance of the Certificate of permanent residence. Thanks to this initiative, citizens will no longer have to submit the certificate in paper form, eliminating the need to wait in lines and significantly speeding up administrative processes.
The Director of IDDEEA, Almir Badnjević, praised these initiatives of the Sarajevo Canton Government and highlighted the importance of digitizing public administration. “IDDEEA fully supports these innovations and will provide all required technical support to ensure that the services operate at full capacity,” said Director Badnjević. The meeting concluded with an agreement that, after the adoption of the Law on e-Government, the Sarajevo Canton Government will sign an Agreement for continuous web service access with IDDEEA, ensuring the smooth delivery of new digital services.
In addition to the e-portal, the Sarajevo Canton Government expressed interest in establishing registration offices where citizens could obtain electronic signatures. Electronic signatures will be essential for use of many future e-services, further simplifying communication between citizens and institutions.
This meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the Sarajevo Canton Government and IDDEEA to continue their collaboration on implementing innovative solutions that will make daily life easier for citizens and improve public administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
