Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), Mr. Almir Badnjević, participated at the GITEX GLOBAL, World Future Economy Digital Leaders Summit held in Dubai this year. At the invitation of H.E. Omar Al Olama, the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and for the first time at this prestigious world event, Bosnia and Herzegovina had its representatives, the Director Almir Badnjević and the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto.
GITEX GLOBAL 2024 is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious technology events, focused on innovations in the fields of technology, digital economy, and startup ecosystems. This summit brings together leading technology leaders, ministers, and policy makers from around the world to address key issues such as artificial intelligence (AI) regulation at national and regional levels, policies for responsible research and application of AI technologies, data protection and privacy, and the role of governments in the development of advanced technologies. This year’s theme, “Global Collaboration to Create the Future AI Economy,” focused on global efforts to use artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity, societies, governments, and businesses, emphasising the importance of international collaboration.
During one of the panels, Director Badnjević presented the achievements and current activities in the field of digital transformation in the academic, governmental, and private sectors of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, an agreement was reached that Bosnia and Herzegovina will have its own pavilion at the next GITEX GLOBAL event, which will be held in Berlin next year. This opportunity will allow Bosnia and Herzegovina to additionally present its innovations and efforts in digital transformation on a global scale.
