Mr. Almir Badnjević, Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), actively participated in the interregional exchange between representatives of the Western Balkan countries and the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries on the topic of “Digital transformation and interoperability” in Brussels. This important event was organised by SIGMA/OECD, GIZ, and RESPA with the goal of connecting and intensifying the exchange of experiences and knowledge about the digitization of public services at the national and regional levels, where representatives from various institutions had the opportunity to exchange positive practices and experiences in implementing their solutions. The occasion was attended by both Director Badnjević and the Assistant Minister of Transport and Communications in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Ernest Đonko.
Mr. Badnjević attended the “New Framework for eID, EDIW, and Trust Services” workshop, which covered major provisions of the new framework for electronic personal documents and trust services, as well as eIDAS 2.0. Director Badnjević delivered a presentation on IDDEEA’s innovative solutions for digital transformation and interoperability.
By attending this event, IDDEEA and Mr. Badnjević directly contribute to the fulfillment of goal 7 of the EU Digital Strategy, which is to improve e-Government services, and goal 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is to encourage partnerships between the government and the private sector during the digitalization of services.
This initiative further demonstrates Bosnia and Herzegovina’s dedication to raising the quality and security of public services provided to the public, as well as harmonising with European digital standards and practices. Mr. Badnjević highlighted the significance of these activities for bolstering interregional cooperation and exchanging creative solutions that might expedite the region’s digital transformation process.
IDDEEA will continue its proactive work to adopt cutting-edge digital solutions that improve security and interoperability, thereby directly contributing to the achievement of the EU strategic goals related to digitalization.
