At this year’s Adria Security Summit, director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA), Mr. Almir Badnjević, participated as a panellist in the panel entitled “No Country for Ancient Tech: Refreshing Outdated Infrastructure with Smart Security.” During the panel, Badnjević spoke about critical infrastructure, cyber security, and the application of artificial intelligence, emphasising the importance of modernising outdated infrastructure in the context of new security challenges.
IDDEEA plays an important role in achieving the goals of the EU Digital Strategy, especially ones related to artificial intelligence (Goal 2) because IDDEEA enables competent authorities to use AI algorithms for facial recognition and fingerprints from databases, while in the field of cyber security (Goal 3), IDDEEA plans to establish a cyber security department and CERT, which directly strengthens cyber security and protects the digital infrastructure of the country.
Adria Security Summit gathers leading global and regional experts from the security industry. This year, more than 50 countries attended the Summit, and the focus was on integration, cloud technology, artificial intelligence, and cyber security. The latest trends, challenges, and solutions in commercial and cyber security are discussed, particularly emphasising the improvement of the security infrastructure through smart solutions.
