Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Almir Badnjević, participated as a speaker at the seventh Jahorina Economic Forum, where the topic of the panel was “Artificial Intelligence in Business.”
During his presentation, the director discussed a wide range of Agency activities, with a focus on digital transformation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which contributes to the implementation of several priorities set before BIH, such as improving the institutional framework and coordinating EU issues, while also achieving the UN’s SDG 9.
He also emphasised the importance of artificial intelligence in cyber security and communication network protection. He also emphasised the importance of artificial intelligence in cyber security and network protection. It enhances security by detecting and preventing threats in real-time, as well as analysing big data to identify potential attacks. He also emphasised the importance of structured data, which, unlike unstructured data, allows for quicker analysis and processing, resulting in more accurate and timely decision-making.
Furthermore, the director emphasised the importance of artificial intelligence for classification and prediction and how these tools are used for data analysis to identify trends in advance and draw conclusions, which improves the Agency’s efficiency. Moreover, the Agency allows the use of artificial intelligence algorithms for facial and fingerprint identification from databases, which contributes towards achieving target 2 of the EU Digital Strategy.
Finally, the director expressed his gratitude to the organisers for the entire event, particularly for organising this panel, which demonstrates that artificial intelligence is employed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite the fact that little is known about it.
