Director of IDDEEA in London: Cooperation with HM Passport Office to Enhance Digital Services for Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), Mr.  Almir Badnjević, met today in London with representatives of HM Passport Office, the key institution of the United Kingdom responsible for issuing passports and managing identification documents.

During the meeting, the possibilities for improving the passport issuance system in Bosnia and Herzegovina through digitalization of the process were discussed. Representatives of HM Passport Office presented their solution for online passport applications, which enables faster, more efficient, and safer services for citizens.

One of the most important conclusions of the meeting was an agreement on future cooperation, according to which HM Passport Office will provide support to IDDEEA in developing digital services for passport applications, once the legal framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina allows the introduction of such a system. The implementation of a digital passport application would significantly reduce administrative procedures, speed up the document issuance process, and improve service accessibility for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially those living abroad.

This initiative represents another step towards the modernization of public administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina and alignment with European and international standards in the field of identification documents. Cooperation with institutions such as HM Passport Office further confirms IDDEEA’s commitment to implementing the most advanced technological solutions that will enable citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to manage their personal documents more efficiently, securely, and easily.

IDDEEA will continue working on the legal and technical prerequisites for the realization of this project, with ongoing communication with relevant institutions and international partners.
