Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA BiH), Mr. Almir Badnjević, visited the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he had a meeting with the EU Special Representative, Mr. Johann Sattler.
The long-standing, fruitful collaboration between IDDEEA BiH and the EU Delegation was emphasised throughout the meeting, with particular attention paid to the considerable assistance that IDDEEA BiH received through IPA funds. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN, the EU Digital Strategy’s objectives, and the EU priorities for Bosnia and Herzegovina can only be achieved through this support.
The Delegation of the European Union provided significant support to IDDEEA BiH through the procurement of high-quality equipment and the provision of relevant services from the pre-accession funds IPA 2017 and IPA 2019. As a result, the institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina were strengthened, allowing for more effective fulfillment of their duties which is also important for the preparation for integration into the European Union.
IDDEEA BiH is focused on activities aimed at building a secure and sustainable digital infrastructure, aligned with the requirements defined in the Digital Decade 2030 document, initiated by the European Commission. The primary objective is to enhance public services through complete digitization while guaranteeing an integrated approach to digital identity.
The goal of all IDDEEA BiH activities is to directly promote public administration reforms by building capacities and offering top-notch services. These initiatives consistently support the professionalism and openness of all operations of institutions as well as the citizens who use the services of IDDEEA BiH.
Director Badnjević expressed gratitude to the Head of the EU Delegation, Johann Sattler, for his unwavering support to IDDEEA BiH and underlined the dedication of the Agency to further advancement and enhancement of digital infrastructure in compliance with EU standards.
This visit and the continued support of the Delegation of the European Union clearly show the commitment of both parties to strengthening institutions and harmonization with European standards, which will lead to positive changes and further progress in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the coming days, they are scheduled to speak at a press conference jointly prepared by the Delegation of the European Union and IDDEEA BiH.
