Digital services of IDDEEA BIH contribute to more efficient public administration

The Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) has made significant progress in improving digital services for physical and legal entities. As part of this process, we focus on connecting with public institutions and entities to facilitate administrative procedures through electronic data exchange that allows public institutions to have permanent access to registers maintained by IDDEEA completely free of charge. All cities, municipalities, and other public institutions that want to expedite their operations in this way, provided they have a valid legal basis, can submit requests for permanent access to data from the registers technically kept and maintained by IDDEEA BiH, sign the Agreement on permanent access and thus access and exchange data through our web service. This service considerably reduces the time required to process requests because access and data exchange are done electronically in real time, i.e., instantaneously, allowing for faster and more efficient resolution of administrative procedures.

In addition to this service, one of the most important services implemented by the Agency this year is the electronic signature, available to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In order to use this service, interested parties must personally submit a request for the issuance of an e-signature at the Registration Authorities of IDDEEA CA in Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Bihać, Mostar and Bijeljina. After signing the agreement, citizens can use a qualified electronic signature free of charge, and that provides them with numerous advantages. In particular, with the introduction of e-services and e-signatures, citizens can perform tasks from the comfort of their homes, which reduces the need for physical visits to the offices. The use of an electronic signature eliminates the need for paper documents, lowering printing and archiving expenses, and this service also provides a high level of security and data protection, which is critical in modern business.

IDDEEA actively works with different institutions and legal entities, particularly in the banking sector, to develop e-services that use electronic signatures. We encourage other competent institutions and participants to build as many electronic services and services as feasible inside their organisations to make procedures easier for themselves and people, and IDDEEA BiH is open for any technical assistance. These improvements will not only increase service quality but will also help to modernise the entire system of public administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
