IDDEEA BiH – Data exchange among institutions rather than requiring citizens to handle permanent residence certificates by themselves

We would like to bring attention to the issue of residence certificates, which is a serious concern that has a big impact on the day-to-day lives of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. IDDEEA BiH extends an invitation to the Ministry of Interior and other competent authorities to collaborate with them on innovative ideas to enhance this procedure and facilitate citizens’ access to required documentation while complying with all applicable laws.

Although the Ministry of Interior is directly in charge of issuing residence certificates, the IDDEEA BiH would like to assist in resolving this issue. We are witnessing frequent long queues and wait times that annoy people and draw needless crowds to institutions. This result in more administrative work along with time wasted for the citizens.

In order to improve this situation, we kindly request that, prior to publishing public invitations requesting proof of residency from citizens, all ministries and other competent institutions take into consideration the possibility of collaborating with us and other competent authorities. Together, we can facilitate the electronic exchange of data while consistently conforming to the Law on Protection of Personal Data. This would ensure that citizens do not have to physically present proof of residence, which would reduce their burden and make the certificate-issuing process run more smoothly.

IDDEEA BiH is willing to cooperate with all competent authorities and ministries to establish sustainable solutions and facilitate citizens’ access to crucial documents.

Please note that our ultimate goal is to ensure that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have easy access to their documents, which will improve the quality of their daily lives.

We invite all competent authorities to collaborate in order to advance this process for the benefit of all citizens.
