IDDEEA BiH received IMF support for digital transformation

The Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA BiH), Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević, held a constructive meeting with the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Andreas Tudyk. During the meeting, the focus was on the current activities and future challenges of IDDEEA BiH, with a special emphasis on digital transformation in the country, in which IDDEEA BiH plays the main role.

Director Badnjević presented the previous projects, highlighting the implementation of the BiH digital identity that enables citizens to have a digital signature. He specifically announced the opening of registration offices within the Agency starting on July 1st of this year, where citizens will be able to register in person to access all e-services offered by the Agency, completely free of charge. Through these activities, the Agency contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), which involves supporting record-keeping and providing technical support for transparency and integrity in electoral processes in BiH, as well as Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) related to the implementation of digital identities and wallets to enhance infrastructure and facilitate daily transactions for citizens.

The Resident Representative of the IMF in Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed his satisfaction with the work of the Agency and emphasized the importance of its operations, particularly in the context of upcoming elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the Agency maintains registers, provides the final voter list to the Central Election Commission, and offers technical support throughout this process. He praised the efforts of the Agency so far and offered full support for all planned future activities.

Director Badnjević announced further steps in development, including the implementation of a digital wallet for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will further enhance digital infrastructure and facilitate everyday transactions for citizens.

This IMF support represents an important boost for IDDEEA BiH in achieving its goals of digital transformation and providing advanced e-services to citizens. IDDEEA BiH remains committed to delivering high-quality services and improving the efficiency of administrative processes for the benefit of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
