By implementing the e-Identity service, the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) has provided citizens with a wide range of services that they can perform online, i.e. without physical presence. A digital signature can now be activated by citizens in addition to accessing their personal information.
Besides all the benefits for people, a lot of organisations and businesses may modernise their operations and customer communications by using digital signature services.
In our country, telecom operators are businesses that are leading the digitization of their services for the general public and, as such, already offer a wide range of electronic services. Telecom operators’ use of electronic signatures in their operations saves time and eliminates the need for customers to physically visit their branch offices. It also implies security, i.e., the authenticity of the signed documents. Moreover, digital signing implies eliminating paper documents, sending by mail, etc. which would lower costs for both operators and customers.
