Meeting between Minister Konaković and Director Badnjević: Improvement of Digital Services for BiH Citizens Abroad

Today, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina between Minister Elmedin Konaković and the Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Almir Badnjević.

One of the key topics of discussion was the enhancement of cooperation between these institutions, with a particular focus on the implementation of digital services offered by IDDEEA. The advantages and possibilities of introducing electronic signatures at diplomatic and consular missions were considered, which would facilitate certain procedures for BiH citizens living abroad.

Special attention was given to the digitalisation of processes related to the assignment of a personal identification number. Given the long waiting period and complexity of the current procedure, options for speeding up and simplifying this process using digital solutions and improving cooperation with other relevant institutions were discussed.

Additionally, the ongoing cooperation regarding regular consular duties, including the issuance of identification documents at diplomatic and consular representations, was also discussed.

Director Badnjević thanked Minister Konaković for his hospitality and expressed readiness for further work on improving these important processes for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
