Meeting of the representatives of
the competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and IDDEEA BiH

The Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereinafter: the Agency) informs the public that, on the initiative of the Federal Ministry of Interior, i.e. the Federal Police Administration, a meeting was organized with all entity MUPs, cantonal MUPs, the Department for the Public Register of Brčko District, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH. The meeting took place in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo on September 9, 2023. The main theme of the meeting was the improvement of business and technical cooperation and the use of application solutions used by the Ministries of Interior and other competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of acquiring biometric data for the production of personal documents.

The Agency remains dedicated to enhancing its services and collaborating with competent authorities to guarantee the effectiveness and safety of the issuance of personal documents. In this regard, the meeting represents a major step forward in this respect for the ongoing improvement of the identification and data registers system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Improved communication and information sharing between these institutions are the goals of cooperation between the Agency and the competent authorities. The Agency will be able to more effectively gather the biometric information required for the production of personal documents by enhancing the application solutions used by the Ministries of Interior and other competent authorities. This will make identification and data registration procedures faster and more precise, which will enhance the security and quality of issued documents. The Agency will provide competent institutions with all the assistance they need to adopt these application solutions.

Cooperation between the Agency and competent authorities is another step forward towards better communication and exchange of information between these institutions. By improving the application solutions used by the Ministries of Interior and other competent institutions, the Agency will be able to more efficiently collect the biometric data needed for the production of personal documents. This will enable faster and more accurate identification and data registration processes, which will result in improved security and quality of issued documents. The Agency will provide full support to competent institutions in the implementation of these application solutions.

This initiative is another step towards the modernization of the system of identification and data registers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through enhanced collaboration and the use of innovative technology, the Agency will continue to deliver high-quality services to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This would also help to increase the trust of the citizens in the system of providing personal documents and improve the country’s security.
