The Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, paid a working visit to the headquarters of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange (IDDEEA) in Banja Luka today. Minister Forto was welcomed by the Director of the Agency, Mr. Almir Badnjević, along with members of his team.
During the meeting, a number of key topics were discussed, with priority given to the current and planned e-services being implemented through the e-signature system. Director Badnjević presented the current results in the digitalisation of public administration, with a special focus on improving the accessibility and security of services for citizens and the business community. It was emphasised that e-services, such as electronic signatures, play a crucial role in speeding up administrative processes and increasing the efficiency of institutions.
In addition, a significant portion of the discussion was dedicated to plans for the completion of the new IDDEEA building in Banja Luka, which will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to support digital processes. Director Badnjević informed the minister about the current status of the project, and Minister Forto expressed his support for its timely completion.
Minister Forto highlighted the importance of aligning digital solutions with the practices of the European Union, stressing that Bosnia and Herzegovina must keep pace with the latest technological trends to improve citizens’ lives and enhance the business environment. He also praised IDDEEA’s efforts in digitalising and modernising administration and expressed the Ministry’s readiness to provide additional support to accelerate these processes.
At the end of the visit, both sides agreed that close cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Transport and IDDEEA will be the key to achieving shared goals in the digitalisation and modernisation of public administration.
