Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH, Dubravka Bošnjak, on a working visit to IDDEEA BiH

The Minister of Civil Affairs, Ms. Dubravka Bošnjak, and the Head of the Minister’s Office, Mr. Davor Bošnjak, visited the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA BiH), which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the visit, the management of the Agency headed by the director, Mr. Almir Badnjević, held a constructive meeting with Minister Bošnjak, during which they presented the Agency’s daily activities, as well as the challenges it faces in its work.

Director Badnjević presented to the minister the successfully implemented projects of the Agency, among which the implementation of e-identity and the enabling of digital signatures stand out. Additionally, projects that are scheduled for the upcoming time were discussed. These include the e-wallet and the registration of digital certificates on new ID cards, both of which were mandated by law in 2013 but have not yet been implemented. All projects implemented by the Agency contribute to the further progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina in digital transformation and the development of digital skills among citizens, which supports SDGs 4 and 7 of the EU Digital Strategy.

Minister Bošnjak gave a statement in which she reaffirmed her full support for the Agency’s work and emphasised the importance of carrying out future projects that will benefit all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and, at the same time, contribute to the achievement of some of the 14 EU priorities for Bosnia and Herzegovina, concerning the improvement of the institutional framework and elections in compliance with European standards.

During her visit to the Centre for Personalisation, Storage, and Transportation of Documents, she gained knowledge about the document personalisation process that is under the purview of IDDEEA BIH. Ms. Bošnjak expressed her satisfaction at having had the opportunity to learn about this process and emphasised the need for ongoing technological and procedural improvements in document personalisation to maintain the high standards of security and quality of service provided by the Agency.

This visit represents the continuation of the successful cooperation between the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and IDDEEA BiH, and the further strengthening of this cooperation will positively influence the efficiency and quality of services provided to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby aiding in the accomplishment of multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 16 and 17) of the UN.
