The Open Data Portal of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA BiH) [https://odp.iddeea.gov.ba/] is a unique source of data available to citizens, businesses, institutions, researchers, journalists, and other users engaged in analysing and monitoring specific trends.
This portal facilitates access to and use of various types of statistical data, such as information from the register of permanent and temporary residence of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, identity cards, travel documents, registered motor vehicles, driving licences, the register of fines and misdemeanours, created cards for digital tachographs, and seafarer’s passports and maritime ID cards. All statistical data published on the portal is regularly updated.
The European Directive on Open Data promotes open and simplified access to public sector data and establishes rules and guidelines for the conditions of reuse of that data. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the provisions of the Open Data Directive are part of the Law on Freedom of Access to Information at the level of institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The goal of establishing the Open Data Portal is also to implement the basic principles of this law, which stipulates the right to access information and the reuse of documents held by government institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, legal entities that establish institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and independent bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina established by special law.
The Open Data Portal promotes transparency and accountability in the management of public resources. Thanks to the tools developed by IDDEEA BiH, access to accurate and reliable data has been facilitated, allowing for a better understanding of civil rights, the use of data, and open data policies.
By using the Open Data Portal, you support the building of a responsible and transparent administration.
