Press Conference of IDDEEA BIH – Presentation of e-Identity and Digital Signature

Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Almir Badnjević, at today’s press conference in the hall of Greece–Bosnia and Herzegovina Friendship Building, presented the opportunity for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to activate a digital identity through the website of the Agency – www.iddeea.gov.ba, 18 years after the law was passed.

Director of the Agency, Almir Badnjević explained that we have provided citizens with electronic access to various services, such as access to specific data from the registers, checking the status of fines and misdemeanors, checking the status of documents, digital signatures, but also to the services of institutions at all levels when enabled.

We ensured that BiH citizens pass all required verifications while enrolling on the portal, ensuring that their data matches. By doing this, we fully safeguard and secure the entire infrastructure,” said Badnjević.

Furthermore, digital signing will be available through the digital identity online service. IDDEEA is working on implementing a digital wallet in compliance with the newest European standards, which should be provided by the end of the year,” concludes Badnjević.

The Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Edin Forto, addressed the attendees and clarified the benefits that the electronic signature option offers to his department.

“For the first time, we have momentum in the digitization process, which will enable the simplification of administrative procedures and the reduction of the number of required documents.”

The Minister of Justice of BiH, Davor Bunoza, expressed the hope that the real process of digitalization of the administration and judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun, which requires necessary amending of the laws on administrative and civil procedure.
