Banja Luka, September 18, 2023 – Today, Mr. Dragan Ćuzulan, Coordinator for Public Administration Reform (PARCO), met with Mr. Almir Badnjević, Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA BiH). The meeting focused on inter-institutional collaboration, projects, and the implementation of electronic signatures and open data portals.
Coordinator Ćuzulan and director Badnjević reviewed crucial topics of inter-institutional growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the meeting. They emphasised the value of collaboration between PARCO and IDDEEA in enhancing the effectiveness and openness of the public administration institutions. Both agreed that significant institutional collaboration is required to make progress in the digitization of administrative processes.
The PARCO officials showed interest in the Agency’s efforts to integrate electronic signatures into public administration. Coordinator Ćuzulan pointed out that electronic signature is an important instrument for increasing the efficiency of administrative operations and eliminating bureaucracy. He emphasised that PARCO is willing to assist IDDEEA in implementing the electronic signature in order to ensure its wide application in all public administration institutions. Director Badnjević informed the participants about the activities undertaken by the Agency.
They also highlighted the significance of open data portals for transparency and accessibility of information to citizens. Director Badnjević emphasised that IDDEEA BiH is in the last stages of creating the open data portal, which will be operational in the following days. The Agency will contribute to the creation and enhancement of the open data portal in order to provide simpler access to information and promote institutional transparency. Coordinator Ćuzulan agreed with this purpose and expressed PARCO’s willingness to provide support in the implementation of the project.
At the end of the meeting, coordinator Ćuzulan and director Badnjević expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved through inter-institutional cooperation. It was decided that frequent meetings would be carried out to monitor the implementation of projects and exchange experiences. Both expressed their belief that this cooperation will contribute to the modernization of public administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
