The Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA BiH), whose telecommunications equipment was leased at the Crno Brdo telecommunications hub owned by BHRT, suffered significant damage as a result of the force majeure caused by a serious forest fire that engulfed the Crno Brdo area. This incident resulted in a total network outage, which had an immediate impact on the system’s operation at the competent authorities and at locations for issuing personal documents in the municipalities of Čapljina and Ljubuški.
Unfortunately, the fire destroyed all of the telecommunications equipment, including the transformer station. As a result, two base stations and three communication links—which are essential to the regular operation of the system for issuing personal documents and other systems that are linked to or rely on the IDDEEA infrastructure—are currently unavailable in the municipalities that were mentioned.
IDDEEA responded immediately and is now searching for the fastest possible alternative solution to restore normal system functionality. In cooperation with the competent institutions, maximum efforts are made to solve the problem in the shortest possible time.
We appreciate your patience while we work to find a solution, as we recognise the significance of these services for the residents of Čapljina and Ljubuški. We anticipate receiving more detailed information shortly regarding the estimated period of repair and service restoration.
We apologise for the situation once more and appreciate your understanding.
