Tirana, September 4, 2023 – Director of the Agency for identification documents, registers and data exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina, PhD Almir Badnjević, and head of the Department for legal affairs, Nermin Bećirbašić, met today with the deputy director of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services of the Republic of Albania, Endri Haxhiu and the representatives of the relevant ministry in the Republic of Albania.

The meeting was devoted to an important initiative for technical implementation of electronic data exchange between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Albania. This initiative aims to facilitate and improve exchange of information related to driving licenses between the two countries, thus improving administrative procedures and safety on the roads.

Director Badnjević emphasized the importance of this cooperation and pointed out that electronic exchange of data related to driving licenses will significantly contribute to faster and more efficient process of recognition and verification of driving licenses between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Albania. This will also help to suppress forgery of driving licenses and their illegal use.

Deputy director, Haxhiu expressed readiness of the Republic of Albania to support this initiative and jointly work on its successful implementation. Representatives of the relevant ministry of the Republic of Albania also expressed their satisfaction for this cooperation will contribute to a better connection between the two countries in the field of road safety.

Both parties agreed that they will continue making joint efforts to work on details concerning the implementation and technical aspects of data exchange. It is expected that this initiative will bring actual benefits to citizens of both countries and contribute to greater traffic safety.
