Director of IDDEEA BiH Mr. Almir Badnjević received the “Friend of Science” award from the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, led by Minister Jasna Duraković. This honor demonstrates his dedicated efforts to improve the standard of scientific research conducted in the country.
Mr. Badnjević is recognized as a creator of innovations at the Verlab Institute, the first private institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina dedicated to scientific and research work. With his team of 15 young enthusiasts focused on excellence in research, Badnjević sets a good example for others in the field of scientific work.
The private character of the Verlab Institute shows that private funds invested in the establishment of this institute can lead to financial independence and the ability to independently approach research.
“Everyone in positions of authority should prioritize science. This kind of recognition is important for the affirmation of scientific achievements and an incentive for further development,” said Badnjević.
Independent, unbiased techniques that examine the number of publications, citations, and significance of research can be used to assess the quality of scientists. Google Scholar, one of the most popular reference sites, offers a transparent view of the current situation of Bosnian and Herzegovina’s scientists, making it possible to evaluate each person’s contribution to the scientific community.
We hope that the Verlab Institute and Mr. Almir Badnjević may be an example for upcoming generations of researchers and provide support for the advancement of scientific endeavors in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
