Mr. Almir Badnjević, Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA BiH), was a distinguished lecturer at the global Identity Week conference on regional identification documents and digital resources in Amsterdam. The event showcased potential reliable identity solutions.
Director Badnjević participated in the panel “National Identity Card Innovations: Documented Security” alongside officials from the Ministry of the Interior of Estonia, SIA Organisation (Secure Identity Alliance), and the Digital Rights Lawyers Initiative. On that occasion, he presented innovative solutions developed by IDDEEA BiH for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The conference has been held since 2008 and gathers more than 4,000 participants from the state and private sectors as well as civil society, with representatives from more than 70 countries. This year, the conference focuses on the opportunities and challenges that suppliers, consumers, and the government sector face in the digital world, reviewing applications for the use of digital identities, and considering how digital identity solutions can be spread across various sectors such as healthcare, banking, and finance.
The conference organisers interviewed Director Badnjević. In this interview, he explained in detail the role and contribution of IDDEEA BiH in the process of digital transformation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, data protection mechanisms when accessing BiH identity, and the establishment of standards and harmonisation with eIDAS regulation in the area of identification documents.
