The Embassy of the Republic of Greece supported IDDEEA in the development of digital identity in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Ambassador of the Republic of Greece in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Ioanna Efthymiadou, welcomed the Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), Mr. Almir Badnjević.

Director Badnjević discussed the efforts of IDDEEA BiH over the previous six months, highlighting successes such as the introduction of digital signatures. Furthermore, he announced upcoming novelties, with a focus on digital signatures and digital wallets, as creative projects that will considerably improve the lives of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Efthymiadou expressed her enthusiasm for the progress and quality of the completed projects and said:

“We are pleased that the Greek Embassy will be able to provide support in any way. I am confident that our collaboration will be fruitful, and that we will be able to do many beneficial tasks for the citizens of BiH. IDDEEA has our full support, and we will do everything in our power to connect you with relevant partners. We are especially looking forward to the implementation of the digital wallet, which will provide the most convenient and secure option for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

Director Badnjević emphasised the importance of citizen trust and stated that the fundamental purpose of IDDEEA is to provide a simple and secure digitization alternative with support from several sectors, including telecoms and banks.

Moreover, the participants expressed their willingness to intensify relations and exchange experiences between IDDEEA BiH and the Embassy of the Republic of Greece in the coming period, with special emphasis on improving cooperation in the field of digital identity development.
