The publication of the first scientific article on IDDEEA’s achievements in the respected American magazine “Technology and Health Care,” published by SAGE is a noteworthy achievement because it shows the Agency’s commitment to digital transformation and innovation in public services. Specifically, over the last year, the Agency has successfully accomplished many projects using its resources, with the establishment of a qualified electronic signature for remote signing beginning on July 1 of this year being particularly notable.
This success also shows the Agency’s commitment to achieving internationally recognized standards in the field of technology, which contributes to the further development of BiH as a technologically advanced country in the Western Balkans. The editorial provides a thorough summary of the new initiative for digital representation, which represents a significant step in the digital transformation of public services in BiH.
The Digital Representation Initiative, led by IDDEEA, is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and European Union strategies and policies for digital transformation. Implemented in three phases, this initiative aims to secure, simplify, and improve public services, which positions Bosnia and Herzegovina as a leader in digital identity technology within the countries of the Western Balkans.
In the first phase, secure and legally binding digital interactions are ensured by the use of a qualified electronic signature, while a pilot project for a digital wallet is envisaged for the end of 2024. The second phase focuses on the creation and integration of electronic services in a variety of sectors, including banking, municipalities, telecommunications, government agencies, and healthcare. By employing verified electronic signatures, processes become simpler and safer, resulting in more efficient and accessible services for citizens. The third step focuses on citizen education and motivation to guarantee the widespread adoption of digital representation and electronic signatures. Citizens will benefit from targeted promotions and training as they become more familiar with and use these services and technology.
The magazine “Technology and Health Care” published an editorial article that is a noteworthy acknowledgement of the Agency’s work in the area of digital transformation. IDDEEA is acknowledged as a leader in the modernisation of public services in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the article analyses the success of this initial initiative and how it has improved public services. Along with streamlining administrative procedures, IDDEEA’s digital transformation of Bosnia and Herzegovina advances a society that is increasingly proficient in technology.
