IDDEEA

The Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina verified the legality of IDDEEA CA to issue electronic signatures

The Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is responsible for maintaining records of certificate authorities, accreditation, and supervision under the Law on Electronic Signatures (Official Gazette BiH, 91/06), issued a press release clarifying the legitimacy and legality of the qualified electronic certificates issued by IDDEEA CA in light of a large amount of information that has been made public and even accusations about unlawful procedures for issuing electronic signatures.

Namely, the Ministry states in its press release that IDDEEA is listed in the register of certificate authorities maintained by the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as of April 15, 2022, under no. 3. Subject to EU Regulation No 910/2015 EIDAS and the audit conducted on September 30, 2021, it is verified that all equipment, services, and processes in IDDEEA intended for the issuance of electronic certificates, i.e. qualified certificates fully meet the standards and measures prescribed by the Regulation.

The Ministry states that IDDEEA is one of four accredited certificate authorities and that all of them perform work on issuing qualified electronic certificates, i.e., electronic signatures, legally and in compliance with the applicable regulations, and will continue doing so until they themselves request to be excluded from the register of certificate authorities or until the supervision procedure determines otherwise.
